Parade Float

This parade float was created collaboratively in the class Parade Floats as Guerilla Art, taught by Ben Fain at Northwestern University. It is made entirely of found materials and was created using a system of self-imposed rules--for example, when the L goes by, we must create two things and destroy one thing; when someone walking past asks us what we're doing, we must paint something; and so on.

It was shown in the Northwestern Homecoming Parade in autumn of 2010, along with another art float built by then-student artists zac farley and Nelson Fitch, and both floats were later shown in Chicago's Halloween parade in Boystown.
